Basic Characteristics Of Warp And Weft Velveteen Fabrics

Velveteen fabrics can be divided into two categories: warp velveteen and weft velveteen according to the formation method of the pile. The velveteen is made by cutting the double layer of the fabric from the middle to form a single-layer fabric, which is processed by brushing and other post-processing. Weft velveteen is made by cutting the velvet weft and post-processing by brushing. Warp velveteen generally has longer fluff, a complex weaving process, and many weaving defects, but high efficiency and a simple velvet weaving process; weft velvet has a thin texture, good hand feeling, and gloss, but the finishing process is more complicated.

Velveteen fabrics have the following characteristics:
    1.
The abrasion resistance is 4-5 times higher than that of ordinary fabrics. Because the surface of the velveteen fabric is the contact between the fiber section and the outside world, the friction of the cloth bottom is avoided.
    2. The surface of the velveteen is densely covered with towering fluff, so it feels soft and has good elasticity, and soft luster, and the surface is not easy to wrinkle.
    3. The cloth body is thick, and the surface fluff can form an air layer, so heat preservation is good.
